ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the relationship between left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), left ventricular end diastolic diameter (LVEDD), wall motion score (WMS) of echocardiographic indexes and serum heart type fatty acid binding protein (h-FABP), chitinase-3 like protein-1 (YKL-40) and their predictive value for prognosis in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI).Methods:A retrospective selection of 130 AMI patients admitted from January 2020 to March 2021 in the University of Hong Kong Shenzhen Hospital were selected as the research objects. According to whether major adverse cardiovascular events or death occurred within 30 d, they were divided into a good prognosis group (85 cases) and a poor prognosis group (45 cases). The echocardiographic indexes, serum h-FABP and YKL-40 levels were compared between the two groups, the correlation between serum indexes and color Doppler ultrasound indexes and the value of echocardiographic indexes for prognosis were also analyzed. Results:When the poor prognosis group was admitted to the hospital and after 1 week of treatment, the LVEF was lower than that in good prognosis group: (40.12±4.10)% vs. (44.37±5.06)% and (47.62±4.83)% vs. (53.29±5.31)%; the LVEDD, WMS, serum h-FABP and YKL-40 level were higher than those in good prognosis group: (52.78±3.67) mm vs. (49.16±3.14) mm and (48.35±4.08) mm vs. (44.20±3.72) mm, (23.42±3.11) scores vs. (20.09±2.87) scores and (20.07±3.70) scores vs. (15.20±2.34) scores, (28.76±4.22) mg/L vs. (22.35±3.19) mg/L and (20.04±3.33) mg/L vs. (14.20±2.76) mg/L, (40.17±5.10) μg/L vs. (34.83±3.25) μg/L and (32.09±4.38) μg/L vs. (27.20±3.07) μg/L, and there were statistical differences ( P<0.05). LVEF was negatively correlated with serum h-FABP and YKL-40 neither at admission nor 1 week after treatment, and LVEDD and WMS were positively correlated with serum h-FABP and YKL-40 ( P<0.05). The areas under the curve for combined prediction of prognosis by LVEF, LVEDD, and WMS was the largest at 0.873. The survival rates of high-risk patients indicated with LVEF, LVEDD, and WMS were lower than that of low-risk patients: 56.52% vs. 90.91%, 52.38% vs. 91.67%, and 54.17% vs. 95.24%, and there were statistical differences ( P<0.05). Conclusions:The echocardiographic parameters LVEF, LVEDD and WMS in patients with AMI are closely related to serum h-FABP and YKL-40, which can provide an objective basis for the evaluation of myocardial pathophysiological changes. Moreover, the combined detection of LVEF, LVEDD, and WMS can be used to further assess the prognostic survival status, with a positive significance for guiding clinical treatment plans.

ABSTRACT

In order to accurately evaluate the similarity of motions during daily rehabilitation training for stroke patients, this paper proposed a novel quantitative assessment method based on dynamic time warping (DTW) algorithm. Firstly, the raw accelerometer signals were preprocessed to eliminate the noise. Secondly, the similarity between the accelerometer signals and four standard task templates was calculated respectively, and then the motion was recognized based on the similarity measurements. Finally, the corresponding quantitative assessment model was used to compute the result. The clinical experimental results showed that there were significant differences in the shortest path distance ( value) of DTW between different tasks, and the classification accuracy could be up to 91% when the value was selected as the classification feature. Additionally, with the process of rehabilitation, the value decreased gradually, which means that the value can be taken as the assessment index to evaluate the quality of designated tasks for stroke patients. It also indicated that the value could be applied into the scene of automatic prescription generation and interactive gaming to determine whether it is needed to change the rehabilitation plan or adjust the game difficulty level, so as to implement the individualized rehabilitation services.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the effects of all-trans-retinoic acid (ATRA) on the proliferation of human lung adenocarcinoma cell line A549 and the expression of APLNR (apelin receptor) gene. Methods The inhibition of proliferation of human lung adenocarcinoma cell lines A549 cultured in vitro with or without ATRA was measured by MTT (methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium,MTT) method. The morphological changes in the cells were observed by light microscopy. The cell cycle and apoptosis were analyzed by flow cytometry. The levels of APLNR,cyclin D1 and p16 proteins were detected by western blot. Results After treatment of ATRA,the proliferation of A549 cells was obviously inhibited in dose-and time-independent manner (P < 0.01).The cell morphology was significantly changed. The cycle of A549 cells was blocked at G0/G1 phase and the apoptosis rate was increased. With the increasing concentration of ATRA,the expressions of cyclin D1 and APLNR were down-regulated but the expression of p16 was up-regulated (P < 0.01).Conclusion ATRA could inhibit the proliferation of A549 cells by retardant cell cycle of A549 cells at G0/G1 phase and inducing the apoptosis, and down-regulate the expression of APLNR gene.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#Acoustic pharyngealmetry technology is utilized to evaluate the change and clinical significance of obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) patients caused by non-upper airway structural factor and normal individuals′ PWF(pharyngeal wall floppiness).@*Methods@#Acoustic pharyngealmetry instrument of Ecconvision was utilized to examine 102 OSAHS patients and 50 normal individuals, separately recorded their volume of pharyngeal cavity in sit or supine position, calculated PWF in sit or supine position, and SPSS 12.0 of tware was used to analyze data.@*Results@#PWF was 0.14±0.09 in sit position and PWF was 0.21±0.10, (t=5.96, t=9.63, P<0.001)in supine position of OSAHS group, which were all significantly higher than those of control group. PWFs in supine position of OSAHS group and control group were evidently higher than PWF(t=-11.91, P<0.001; t=-2.32, P=0.025) in sit position. ΔPWF(PWF_supine-PWF_sit)was 0.063±0.054 in OSAHS group which was significantly greater than in control(F=41.173, P<0.01). PWF in sit position and supine position were all positively related with age(r=0.714, r=0.735, P<0.001)while irrelevant with BMI(P>0.05).@*Conclusions@#PWF can be utilized to be an index to reflect the physiological feature of upper airway. PWF can more precisely reflect upper airway collapsibility of OSAHS patients on the condition of PWF in supine position. Pharyngeal wall floppiness quantified as a high PWF index is a non-structure vital factor of OSAHS patients and plays a role of guiding us to make personal treatment plans for OSAHS patients.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To observe the therapeutic effect of radiotherapy combined with TPF in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and to explore the influencing factors on prognosis of NPC.@*METHOD@#A retrospective analysis of 144 patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma receiving radiotherapy combined with chemotherapy, from January 2006 to December 2011, was conducted. The survival analysis in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma were performed. The impact of age, sex, clinical stage, alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), homocysteine (Hcy), uric acid, NK cell proportion, T cell proportion, Carbohydrate antigen on survival time was observed with univariate and multivariate methods.@*RESULT@#By the last follow-up, 9 cases were lost . The follow-up rate was 93.75 percent and the average follow-up time were 54.67 ±17.17 (37-88) months. The age, clinical stage, LDH, proportion of T cells and NK cells were independent factor in patients with NPC with univariate analysis (P < 0.01). COX regression multivariate analysis revealed that age, clinical stage and LDH were strong risk factor affecting prognosis (P < 0.01) and the proportion of NK cells and T cells were protective factors (P < 0.01).@*CONCLUSION@#Radiotherapy combined with TPF is more effective than radiotherapy alone in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma . Age, clinical stage and LDH may adversely influence the disease prognosis, and NK cells and T cell proportion may act as protective factors.

Except for RV, MV-D1, MV-D2, MV-D3, TV-D1, TV-E, MV-s′, IVS-a′, TV-s′and TV-e′, all R2 obtained by nonlinear regression method (lnY=a+bX+cX2+dX3) were larger than those obtained by linear regression method (Y=a+bX). The Z score showed a normal distribution and no correlation with body weight. Conclusions The normal reference values of newborn undergoing echocardiography reflect the variation in weight. The Z scores can be obtained by the predicted nonlinear regression equations and show standard normal distribution. The echocardiography normal reference values have important significance for the diagnosis and treatment of neonatal heart disease.

ABSTRACT

@#ObjectiveTo investigate the survival and differentiation of autologous bone-marrow mononuclear cell (ABM-MNCs) after transplanted to infarcted area and border area, and the effect of ABM-MNC on the cardiac function.Methods40 male big-ear Japanese rabbits were divided randomly into the transplanted group and control group with 20 animals in each group. Acute myocardial infarction model was made by ligating left anterior descending artery. 7 days later, Brdu labeled ABM-MNCs were injected into myocardium in the transplanted group, while the control rabbits were injected with saline. Six weeks later, tests of histology and immunohistochemistry were performed.ResultsViable cells labeled with Brdu can be identified in the infarcted area, and myocytes and endothelial cells labeled with Brdu can also be found in the border area, these cells demonstrated myogenic differentiation with the expression of α-actin by immunostaining. While, no cells labeled with Brdu were found in the control group. Moreover, the vessel density of the transplanted group in the borders of the infarction was higher than the control group (P<0.05), but there was no difference in infarcted area between two groups (P>0.05).At the 6 weeks after experiment, the cardiac function was improved in both groups, but there was a significant difference between two groups (P<0.05).ConclusionABM-MNCs injected into the infarcted myocardium can survive in both the infarcted and border areas, and differentiate into endothelial cells and other cells which are able to obtain the characters of myocytes, and increase the vessel density in border area, improve the cardiac function.
